It has been only two weeks that iOS 5 was released to developers, and on the very next day MuscleNerd, managed to jailbreak iOS 5 on iPod Touch. Although iOS 5 won’t be officially available for another few months, but this hasn’t stopped any of the iPhone hackers to perform experiments over the iOS 5 beta release. QuickComposer is the first widget to Notification which allows you to quickly compose messages, e-mails, notes, tweets and reminder.
QuickComposer will contain the icons of most commonly performed tasks on iPhone e.g. Email, SMS, Twitter, Notes and Reminder. As of yet, there are no words on how to change the icons but iPhoneItalia says that it is only compatible with the following (so this might give a sense that no further icons can be added or replaced):
- Email : will take the user directly into the dialing screen (you will use the default mail account)
- SMS : bring the user directly into the dialing screen to write an SMS or iMessage
- Twitter : will take the user directly to the screen composition of the official client for the iPhone
- Notes : takes you directly into the dialing screen to write a new note
- Reminders : bring the screen where the user can record a new reminder
Nonetheless, this will save time and taps from opening sms app first and then tapping compose to write a new message. You can just tap the compose sms icons from the widget to access the compose sms quickly. This tweak is not available yet, as iHaz3, iPhone theme developer, has said that it will be available on Cydia soon after the final release of iOS 5.
